MZAZA had an awesome time in Germany, Czech Republic and Italy performing gigs and festivals polishing our new songs. We even managed a bit of sightseeing in the Kutna Hora ‘bone church’. As you can see we really get into sightseeing.
It was all preparation for their time at Sierra Studios in Athens with the masterful engineer Vangelis Lappas who, creatively and diligently, with an incredible expertise, enthusiasm and stamina worked with us for a week to record our new album.
Sierra Studios was designed by Tom Hidley who is a legend in the world of high-end studio acoustic design. As you can see it still has the original 70’s shag pile carpet and the mix of cork, stone, wood and fabric wall coverings. The beauty of this giant space was that we could play live without having spill from each other’s instruments so Vangelis could EQ each instrument more precisely.
